I haven't blogged in quite a while, obviously. That doesn't mean I lost sight, or got off track. Sure, at times I did, we all do. But I've also made a lot of progress. I can run 4 miles without stopping, I can bench press more than the bar, I can do more squats than I ever thought possible. I'm fitter than I ever have been. I'm not at my skinniest, but I'm at my healthiest.
I've lost 32 pounds in the last 12 months. Sometimes I get frustrated thinking how much further I would be if I had never slipped up, or given up. Today I'm just very happy with how far I've come, and how much I am looking forward to what is ahead of me. I have 17.5 pounds until I reach my goal weight.. I am more concerned about gaining strength, losing inches, and increasing my muscle tone however. I won't be hung up on the number, its just a solid goal I can work toward (and DH is buying me all kinds of wonderful things when I hit it)
Now I would like to share my progress through face shots over the last 18 months!
The first three pictures there wasn't a drastic change. But between the last two is when I started eating clean, and lifting weights. I can 100% say that I believe lifting weights has finally given me a "normal" metabolism. I could never eat 1500 calories a day, and not gain weight, let alone lose weight. I don't feel an overwhelming sense of guilt anymore if I do indulge in a treat, where before I knew a small treat would still result in a gain.
I have a little ways to go, but I am happy, and happy with the results I am seeing, and the lifestyle I am leading, and know that once I reach my goal, I will still be continuing on the path I am on. I have never felt healthier, or happier.
I'm very excited to share my journey with anyone who wants to read, and hope that we can learn together. I will try to post clean recipes that I try, and the workouts I am doing, as well as the progress I am seeing.

There is a definite change in your face and in your body! Weight lifting makes all the difference! Just 2 sessions a week can lower your body fat percentage by 3% even without cutting any calories!
ReplyDeleteAnd NSV (non scale victories) are just as important in the journey towards healthy living, such as eating clean and running 4 miles at a time. Congrats, you are doing amazing!!
